An original painting on canvas of a young woman carrying a bowl on her head, worked in warm browns and amber with loose drips and splashes, signed Lexis in the lower right. The figure is drawn in a few dark strokes over washes of amber that run down the canvas, and the paint is flicked and splashed around her so she seems to be walking through it. The artist lists the medium as a local watercolour pigment he calls aciduro, which is what gives the piece its single warm colour, closer to an ink drawing than to the bright acrylics elsewhere in his shop. At 7 by 10 inches it is a small piece, a good size for a desk, a bookshelf or a gallery wall of small pieces. If you want colour rather than a single tone, Silent Elegance is the better choice.
