Figures of Unity Acrylic Painting

An original acrylic painting on canvas of five figures, signed Lexis. Five tall, faceless figures stand shoulder to shoulder, each balancing a bowl on the head, painted in turquoise, gold, crimson and deep indigo. They are built from loose vertical strokes that run down into the background, so the group reads as one moving line rather than five separate people, and the close detail photograph shows the paint laid on thickly in places with the brush marks left in. At 10 by 14 inches it is a small painting, sized for a narrow wall, a shelf or a group of smaller works. If you like the palette, the artist's other small figure paintings in the shop are painted in the same colours and hang well together. Painted by hand in Accra, Ghana. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from damp.
