The Last Minute, Market Scene Painting

An original acrylic market scene on canvas by Ghanaian artist Alex Mensah. In the final minutes before the market closes, buyers and sellers rush to finish their trading and head home for the day. Vibrant shades of acrylic and an impressionistic hand capture the hustle and bustle of the marketplace: women balancing basins of goods on their heads, traders settled by their wares and woven baskets waiting to be carried home, all set against a cool blue evening light. The painting measures 13 x 20 inches, about 33 x 51cm, and is signed Lexis at the lower right. It ships rolled in a tube, unstretched, ready for you to stretch or frame. If you would like a quieter companion piece, the same artist's Shadows of the Village Market is also in the shop.
