The last time it felt like home. Childhood was the last time life felt like home, a place safe enough to exist in without pretending. This piece is my quiet grief for growing older. I watched myself change, leaving fragments of my childhood behind with each passing day while carrying the ache of everything I was becoming. It caught me in the middle of a lifelong search for the emotional home we unknowingly left behind. A place where we once felt whole, safe, and free enough to simply exist.
