Each ear cuff is made by hand, so the shape and the beads differ slightly from piece to piece and from the photos, and colours may look a little different on screen. The price is for one ear cuff. The photos show three of the eight designs (cowrie shells with glass beads, pearls, and cowrie shells with pearls); the others are not pictured, so message the seller if you would like to see one before buying.
Cowrie shells were once used as currency across much of Africa, and the Swahili coast of Kenya has its own, so on a Kenyan piece they are shells from home waters. Here they sit at the tips of a brass sunburst, made for everyday wear as much as for a wedding, a party or a festival.

Brass wire is coiled into a curl that sits around the ear, and twisted brass rays fan out from it, each one tipped with a cowrie shell, a bead or a pearl bead. At about 10cm across it covers much of the ear and reads as a statement from across a room, yet the maker describes it as lightweight and comfortable. It fits either the left or the right ear and is listed as size adjustable.
