Each hat is beaded by hand, so the bead pattern differs slightly from hat to hat and from the photos, and colours may look a little different on screen. The photos show the black, royal blue and beige hats with multicoloured beads; the other colours are not pictured, so message the seller if you would like to see one before buying. One of each colour is in stock.

A wide brim wool felt fedora, hand beaded with glass beads on the hat band and around the brim edge. Each hat starts as plain wool felt, shaped by hand, steamed and blocked to give the wide brim and tall crown. Then the beading begins, and this is the long part. Every glass bead on the band and the brim edge is placed by hand and stitched in rows, not glued, so it stays put. One hat takes hundreds of beads and several hours of stitching by an artisan in Nairobi, Kenya. The maker lists the beads as real glass, not plastic. Because it is beaded by hand, no two hats are exactly the same. If you want a hat that people stop and ask about, this is it. Choose your colour from the options. With multicoloured beads: black, navy blue, royal blue, grey, mint green, beige, hot pink and plum. Also black with black and white beads, beige with gold and white beads, and chocolate brown with brown and white beads. The photos show three of them: black, royal blue and beige, each with multicoloured beadwork. One of each colour is in stock. One size, 57 to 58cm. The brim is 7.5cm wide and the crown 12cm wide. After beading, the inner band is fitted and the brim finished by hand, then the hat is steamed again and packed. Spot clean only, do not wash.
