Red and Black Carved Wall Mask

A hand carved wooden wall mask, painted black and red with giraffe panels. The face is cut right through the wood: open almond eyes, a carved nose and an open mouth, so the wall shows through when it hangs. A red band runs from the brow to a carved loop at the top, flanked by two small carved heads, each wearing a white beaded earring. Giraffe pattern panels and red striped tips frame the face, and rows of dots and stripes are cut through the black paint to the pale wood beneath. It is a decorative piece for a wall, a shelf or a collection, not a ceremonial mask. The photograph shows the mask resting on its side on a table. The size is not published because the figure given does not match the photograph, so please message the seller for measurements before buying. Care: dust with a soft dry cloth and keep out of damp and direct sun.
