An original acrylic painting on canvas of a woman seen from behind, in turquoise, gold, violet and deep earth tones, signed Lexis in the lower right. She stands turned away from the viewer, so there is no face to read, only the line of her back, a gold hoop earring, gold bands on her arm and a string of white beads at her waist. The background is laid in loose vertical strokes of colour that she seems to step out of, and the close detail photograph shows how thickly the paint sits in places, with the canvas weave showing through where it is thin. At 10 by 14 inches it is a small painting, sized for a narrow wall, a shelf or a group of smaller works rather than a single large space.
