Dance to the Music, Green Painting

An original acrylic painting on canvas of five men dancing, in greens and yellows. The artist took it from the festivals of Northern Ghana, where men in their colourful traditional smocks dance with real energy and joy. Here the dancers are dark, loosely brushed figures with arms reaching out to one another and knees lifted mid step, under a rain of small yellow, green and white brush marks that keeps the whole surface moving. The colour runs from a warm yellow glow on the left to deep green on the right. It is signed LEXIS in the lower right corner and measures 20 x 13 inches (about 51 x 33cm), landscape, as given by the artist. There is one, and it is the canvas you see here.
