No measurement is published here because the size given by the maker, 2.5cm, does not match the photographs, where the knot measures larger against the ear wire. The first photograph shows the pair itself; the second and third are styled shots and the stand, flowers and fabric in them are not included.
Cultural context & artisan story
Beaded by hand in Kenya by a Bukusu maker working under the name Mulembe, the Lubukusu word for peace and the everyday greeting. The knot is her own design in seed beads rather than a traditional motif.

Overview
Handmade drop earrings in red and gold seed beads, each one a triangular knot of beaded strands looping over and under each other, hanging from gold tone fish hook ear wires. Bright enough for a wedding or a celebration and light enough to wear all day. The strands alternate silver lined red and gold beads, so the knot flashes gold wherever it catches the light. The first photograph is the pair on a plain plate and shows the beadwork as it really is, thread and all. If you prefer the Kenyan flag colours, the store also makes this knot in red, green, black and white. Care: keep them dry and away from perfume, and store them flat so the knot keeps its shape.
