Overview
A pair of hand carved wooden wall masks, one male and one female, in a dark wood finish. Both faces are long and calm, with closed almond eyes, a fine ridged brow and a straight narrow nose, tapering to a point at the chin. The male mask has close cut hair carved in small notches. The female mask wears her hair high in a crest topped with a round knot, with carved ear ornaments at each side. Hung together they read as a couple, a quiet, balanced pair for a hallway, living room or office wall. The seller gives the size as 40.6 x 10.2 cm (16 x 4 in). Carved from wood by hand in Ghana. Dust with a dry cloth.
