Velvet Red Beaded Handbag

A small red top handle bag, beaded entirely by hand in Nigeria. Velvet is the maker's name for this deep red. Every surface is built from transparent faceted beads that catch the light from every angle, and a scatter of red leaf shaped beads climbs one side of the bag and spills over the edge, so it reads almost like a bouquet held by its stems. The two short handles are beaded in the same red and stand up on their own. It is a bag for evenings, weddings and parties, sized for a phone, keys, cards and a lipstick. If your outfit is plain black or white, this is the piece that does the talking. The bag measures 15 x 15 x 5cm, as the maker gives it, not counting the handles. Care: keep it away from sharp objects and do not crush it in a full bag. Wipe the beads with a soft dry cloth.
